Fontanile is a magical place and its territory, the Monferrato, is a real gem nestled between the Langhe, the Roero and the Lomellina.
It is located between 3 interesting provincial cities, Asti, Alessandria and Cuneo and it is an hour’s drive from Turin, Milan, Genoa.
A few kilometers away are Nizza Monferrato with its picturesque markets, Aqui Terme with its famous thermal spring from which boiling curative water flows.
In the neighborhood you can find the railway stations of Nizza Monferrato, Aqui Terme and the small station of Mombaruzzo about 1 km away.
Coming by car, you can take the A26 Genova-Alessandria motorway to the Alessandria Sud exit (it is 20 km from Fontanile) or to the Torino-Piacenza A21 motorway and exit at Asti Est (32 km away at Fontanile).
It is an excellent starting point for suggestive routes, able to mix a landscape of rolling hills and vineyards with historical evidence of first importance, cities of great charm and small settlements dominated by castles, excellent wines and exquisite delicacies.
You can decide to spend a day at the beach, and in less than an hour and a half you can reach the beautiful beaches of Liguria.
