Tours

See, feel, touch and taste the authentic art, culture and natural beauty of our territory, this is the only way to get under the skin of real Monferrato.

Away from the crowd the Monferrato is all to be discovered, not necessarily as an alternative to the Langhe, but, why not, together, in order to be able to notice the characteristics that distinguish these two territories, so close but also so different.

After having discovered the secrets of  Fontanile village and its San Giovanni Battista church, just don’t miss:

  • The scenic tour of the 26 Big Benches located in Monferrato, Langhe and Roero.
  • The visit at the underground Cathedrals of Canelli, UNESCO world Heritage site, unique wine cellars that wiggle below the entire city for about 20 km (12 miles) and disappear on different levels in the viscera of tufa hills (all the way to 32 meters/104 feet underground) creating really suggestive scenarios: a real masterpiece of engineering and architecture.
  • The Monferrato wine road: it is organized into four thematic areas crisscrossed by eight different routes, which can be found on the Strada del Vino’s  official website. Just follow this magical road through vineyards and forests, fields and castles and lose yourself through centuries of history and architecture. Don’t forget that Monferrato is the land of the “Lady in Red”, the most popular of Piedmontese whines, Barbera.
  • A visit to Berta distilleries with its Grappa Museum, where you can feel the passion of this unique old profession.
  • A visit to the workshop of a beekeeper to taste the honey he produces.

  • A visit of Turin, the first capital of Italy from 1861 and 1865 with its Renaissance, Baroque and Neo-classical architecture, its spectacular squares, castles, gardens and elegant palazzi deserve a visit that may last more than one day. You should visit the Mole Antonelliana with its Cinema Museum, the Reggia of Venaria and last but now least the second museum after Il Cairo, the famous Egyptian Museum.
